Position Title: Master Teacher
Organization: SJB Child Development Centers
Location: San Jose
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Master Teacher must be able to consistently, and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Please review the attached Position Description for more details.)
- Relate to all children in encouraging and positive ways.
- Facilitates the implementation of SJB Curriculum.
- Establish a climate of respect for each child’s individual personality, physical characteristics and traits, culture, language and ethnic characteristics, family structure, developmental needs and behaviors.
- Assist with the oversight of center staff nurture and facilitate the learning experience by meeting each child at their point of need through a variety of teaching methods, which include but are not limited to individualized care and small group experiences.
- Assist in providing leadership and guidance to children, families, and staff.
Interact daily with each child and support his or her learning process.
Provide direction, resources, and support to the program staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating program curriculum. - Assist with ensuring clear expressions of expectations with natural and logical consequences
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with each child’s parent and/or caregivers.
- Support the whole family by providing tools, resources and opportunities for involvement in order to create a learning community.
